What Mamilia is
Mamilia is a crater — a circular depression, almost always an impact scar — on Vesta, 35.7 km across, centred at 48.4° N, 82.1° E. It is the 32nd largest named feature on Vesta and the 17th largest of its class there.
Where the name comes from
Roman vestal virgin (c. 240). The International Astronomical Union approved the name in 2012, under the theme it applies to every crater on Vesta.
What it would take to settle Mamilia
