Hervor Corona is a corona — an oval feature raised by rising material beneath the crust — on Venus, 250 km across, centred at 25.5° S, 91.0° W in the Helen Planitia quadrangle. It is the 669th largest named feature on Venus and the 158th largest of its class there.
Where the name comes from
Norse fertility goddess. The International Astronomical Union approved the name in 1991, under the theme it applies to every corona on Venus. Of the 340 features of this class catalogued on Venus, the naming categories run India (16), Greek (14), Celtic (12), Roman (11).
What it would take to settle Hervor Corona
