Capri Montes is a mons — a mountain — on Mars, 265 km across, centred at 19.2° S, 59.7° W in the Coprates quadrangle. It is the 348th largest named feature on Mars and the 28th largest of its class there.
Where the name comes from
Classical albedo feature, Capri Cornu. The International Astronomical Union approved the name in 2020, under the theme it applies to every mons on Mars. Of the 62 features of this class catalogued on Mars, the naming categories run Greek (39), Latin (20), Turkey (1), Tanzania (1).
What it would take to settle Capri Montes
