Obilukha Corona is a corona — an oval feature raised by rising material beneath the crust — on Venus, 220 km across, centred at 81.5° S, 19.0° E in the South pole (unnamed) quadrangle. It is the 726th largest named feature on Venus and the 186th largest of its class there.
Where the name comes from
E. Slavic crop protection deity. The International Astronomical Union approved the name in 1997, under the theme it applies to every corona on Venus. Of the 340 features of this class catalogued on Venus, the naming categories run India (16), Greek (14), Celtic (12), Roman (11).
What it would take to settle Obilukha Corona
