Saldanha Sinus is a sinus — a bay-shaped dark plain — on Titan, 18 km across, centred at 82.4° N, 37.5° E. It is the 272nd largest named feature on Titan and the 28th largest of its class there.
Where the name comes from
Bay in South Africa. The International Astronomical Union approved the name in 2020, under the theme it applies to every sinus on Titan. Of the 28 features of this class catalogued on Titan, the naming categories run Canada (3), Japan (2), Namibia (1), Scotland (1).
What it would take to settle Saldanha Sinus
