Nepthys Mons is a mons — a mountain — on Venus, 350 km across, centred at 33.0° S, 42.5° W in the Nepthys Mons quadrangle. It is the 530th largest named feature on Venus and the 38th largest of its class there.
Where the name comes from
Egyptian goddess of barren lands. The International Astronomical Union approved the name in 1991, under the theme it applies to every mons on Venus. Of the 117 features of this class catalogued on Venus, the naming categories run Greek (8), Egypt (8), Hopi (5), India (4).
What it would take to settle Nepthys Mons
