Vir ava Chasma is a chasma — a deep, steep-sided canyon — on Venus, 1,700 km across, centred at 16.5° S, 124.0° E in the Thetis Regio quadrangle. It is the 90th largest named feature on Venus and the 8th largest of its class there.

Where the name comes from

Mordvinian forest mother. The International Astronomical Union approved the name in 1982, under the theme it applies to every chasma on Venus. Of the 63 features of this class catalogued on Venus, the naming categories run Siberia (5), Slavic (4), Caucasus (4), Greek (3).
