Fand Mons is a mons — a mountain — on Venus, 300 km across, centred at 7.0° N, 158.0° E in the Rusalka Planitia quadrangle. It is the 592nd largest named feature on Venus and the 48th largest of its class there.
Where the name comes from
Celtic goddess of healing and pleasure. The International Astronomical Union approved the name in 2003, under the theme it applies to every mons on Venus. Of the 117 features of this class catalogued on Venus, the naming categories run Greek (8), Egypt (8), Hopi (5), India (4).
What it would take to settle Fand Mons
