What Achall Corona is
Achall Corona is a corona — an oval feature raised by rising material beneath the crust — on Venus, 265 km across, centred at 31.2° S, 100.4° W in the Helen Planitia quadrangle. It is the 652nd largest named feature on Venus and the 148th largest of its class there.
Where the name comes from
Celtic earth and nature goddess. The International Astronomical Union approved the name in 2006, under the theme it applies to every corona on Venus. Of the 340 features of this class catalogued on Venus, the naming categories run India (16), Greek (14), Celtic (12), Roman (11).
What it would take to settle Achall Corona
