Lacus Somniorum is a lacus — a small dark plain — on The Moon, 425 km across, centred at 37.6° N, 30.8° E in the Eudoxus quadrangle. It is the 22nd largest named feature on The Moon and the 1st largest of its class there.
Where the name comes from
"Lake of Dreams." The International Astronomical Union approved the name in 1935, under the theme it applies to every lacus on The Moon.
What it would take to settle Lacus Somniorum
