Issedon Tholus is a tholus — a small domical mountain or hill — on Mars, 54.5 km across, centred at 36.1° N, 94.8° W in the Arcadia quadrangle. It is the 903rd largest named feature on Mars and the 15th largest of its class there.
Where the name comes from
Classical albedo name. The International Astronomical Union approved the name in 1991, under the theme it applies to every tholus on Mars. Of the 29 features of this class catalogued on Mars, the naming categories run Greek (16), Latin (9), China (3), Great Britain (1).
What it would take to settle Issedon Tholus
