Acheron Catena is a catena — a chain of craters — on Mars, 422 km across, centred at 37.5° N, 100.8° W in the Arcadia quadrangle. It is the 231st largest named feature on Mars and the 4th largest of its class there.

Where the name comes from

Named for classical albedo feature at 35N, 140W. The International Astronomical Union approved the name in 1979, under the theme it applies to every catena on Mars. Of the 16 features of this class catalogued on Mars, the naming categories run Greek (10), Latin (5), Roman (1).
