Aife Fossae is a fossa — a long, narrow depression — on Venus, 280 km across, centred at 67.0° N, 131.0° E in the Atalanta Planitia quadrangle. It is the 634th largest named feature on Venus and the 28th largest of its class there.
Where the name comes from
Irish warrior deity. The International Astronomical Union approved the name in 1997, under the theme it applies to every fossa on Venus. Of the 31 features of this class catalogued on Venus, the naming categories run Greek (4), Norse (3), Siberia (2), Slavic (2).
